NEW!
Sumerduck Rosé Gold:  Wines have come and gone over the years but Sumerduck Rosé was there at the beginning and is still part of the portfolio today. This gold-label 20th anniversary release of Sumerduck Rosé is nod to the original. This dry rosé is a welcome break from the dismissive notion that pink wine is not serious wine.

Cuvee Julia & Goldvein: FEB/MAR 2022

Cuvée Julia: Pop open a Cuvée Julia to celebrate in style with this sparkling Virginia Chardonnay.

Goldvein:   You need to try this... it's a skin-fermented white wine. Discover the structure, intensity and intrigue of a red wine without the weight and heaviness. Sometimes these are called "orange" wines because of the golden amber color. They are not made from oranges. This is a very ancient style of wine not some new fad or gimmick. This is what wine might have been like in Biblical times, except for the modern biochemistry, and all that good stuff.

Bourbon Barrel Petit Verdot & Snake Castle Rosé: DEC 2021/JAN 2022

Picture
New Sumerduck Rose | 2012 Petit Verdot
NEW Sumerduck Rosé:
Why does rosé wine have a bad reputation?
Let’s talk about how you may imagine a
rosé : Neon pink, sticky sweet, flavorless, and barely 10% alcohol. No wonder you've been disappointed or underwhelmed in the past.  Well I say, “Give Pink a chance!” The 2015 release of our Sumerduck Rosé has arrived and we can tell you this; “It’s not just for brunch anymore!” This is a full-figured rosé. You heard me right, I said “full-figured.” A rosé should be the color of your lover's lips and just as exciting and delicious. Sumerduck Rosé is a blend of Vidal Blanc and Petit Verdot, off dry, and weighing it at 13% alcohol it is a real knock-out bombshell. Drink Pink!

Sumerduck Rosé:

Sumerduck Rosé is a balanced blend of Vidal Blanc and Petit Verdot. This off-dry rosé is a breath of fresh air, a welcome break from the dismissive notion that pink wine is not serious wine. This wine has an intensity - yet still is harmonious - with a touch of spice and a lingering black-cherry finish.

NEW Cuvee Julia:

Pop open a Cuvee Julia to celebrate in style! This sparkling Virginia Viognier is produced in the most classic and traditional way,  a process called “Methode Champenoise.”  Which is just a fancy French way to say that fermentation occurs in the very same bottle from which it is served.

Available only to wine-club members.

NEW Snake Castle:
Snake Castle is made from Petit Verdot and  fortified with Brandy distilled from our own grapes. It is oak aged, unfiltered, and robust. This port-style wine is named after a local landmark on the Rappahannock River. With hints of chocolate, caramel, and cherry candy we call it a tootsie roll in a glass.

Lily Grace:
Lily Grace is a combination of Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, and Viognier. Think of these grapes as ingredients to create a new flavor. Viognier is very floral, Vidal is crisp and bright, Chardonnay lends body to this wine and brings it all together.

New and exclusive:  December 2013/January 2014 (Now Shipping)

Picture
Petit Verdot | First Frost
This wine club marks the release of our new 2011 Virginia Red Select, of which we only produced 55 cases. While Virginia Red Select has long been one of our winery’s classic offerings, there is something exciting and different in this blend. With the addition of Syrah, the 2011 vintage is a creative departure from the “Virginia Bordeaux” that this wine represented in the past. This oak-aged, unfiltered combination of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot is bold and intense, yet still sophisticated and delicately structured.

The Brandy Station 750 is a wine-club exclusive and only available to members.
Think of it as the “Grande Dulce,” the big brother to our popular Sherry-inspired wine, in a larger, 750 ml bottle. It is fortified with Brandy distilled from our own grapes and to our specifications. It is aged in oak just enough to add a whisper of complexity yet still is invigorating and fresh.

Celebrate Harvest:  October/November 2013 (Now Shipping)

Picture
Petit Verdot | First Frost
With the first frost in the fall, the vines drop their leaves and the fruit is at its peak. The grapes’ color, aroma, and flavor is the most intense at this time, allowing us to craft First Frost Vidal. By halting fermentation, we are able to keep some residual sweetness in the wine, bottling the last days of summer to ease your way into the brisk fall. As the nights grow colder, you will appreciate the warmth-giving quality of Petit Verdot, our robust, full-bodied red. This is the perfect wine to accompany dinners in front of the fire. Make First Frost and Petit Verdot part of your harvest celebrations.

1. Rogers Ford First Frost:
Harvested at first frost this fruit was at the peak of perfection, producing a crisp, intense, honey-like citrus fruit-finish wine. Moderately sweet, enjoy this wine with cheese, a spicy Asian dish or even as dessert with cheese cake.

2. Rogers Ford Petit Verdot:
This Virginia-grown Petit Verdot is rich and complex, deeply pigmented with firm tannins. Aged in oak, this unfiltered wine promises a good future as well as being enjoyable today. PV goes well with hearty fare; serve at room temperature to appreciate its robust character.

The combination of Chardonnay, Vidal, and Viognier makes Lily Grace a perfect wine to enjoy as the days heat up.
